Indonesian Horror Game DreadOut Launches 15th of May

And there’s a launch trailer!

I won’t lie, you guys, I am excited. I have this morbid fascination with horror games and horror films (even though I’m a huge coward), and when I played the demo of this last year, it definitely stuck to my radar. It has clearly taken inspiration from Fatal Frame, with ghosts and ghouls that can only be hurt by taking their picture. Some can even only be seen through the lens of a camera, and protagonist Linda has her smartphone with her and little else.

Apparently this will be act 1 of 2, and will cost US $14.99. It is unclear from the phrasing whether we’ll have to pay for act 2 separately. More information on the official blog.

So if you like creepy horror games with Fatal Frame mechanics, you’re in luck! DreadOut. 15th of May.
